JMAT Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Competition-Wath Academy on 20/01/25
On Tuesday 20th January we hosted our popular Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics competition at Wath Academy Sportshall. This is one of Mr Bennett's favourite events of the year with the all action and varied events that the children can do. In total each of our schools will do 8 track events and 5 field events. Parkour Festival at Nova City for Bramley Sunnyside
Bramley Sunnyside took part in the Rotherham School Games Parkour Festival at Novacity in the Autumn term. It was an amazing afternoon of parkour where children learnt a variety of different skills and even had a go at breakdancing! A huge well done to Fynn who achieved 11 points on the bar hang - which was hanging from a bar for a massive 275 seconds which is over 4 and a half minutes! #TeamJMAT #TeamBSJS #Parkour #SchoolSport 💪🤸♂️🚶

Wath CofE, Anston Hillcrest & Bramley Sunnyside top their groups in the Rotherham United Primary Stars Girls Football Tournament 2025
On Friday 17 th October, 23 Rotherham schools competed in the Premier League Primary Stars Girls Regional Finals at Dinnington Resource Centre, in a bid to claim their place in the regional finals. JMAT Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition for the “Matt Burrows Shield”-12/11/25
On Tuesday 12th November we hosted our popular JMAT Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition for the “Matt Burrows Shield” . Matt was a parent of children at Wath CofE and had a massive impact on Rugby in the local area and supporting Rugby with our JMAT events. This trophy was won previously by Wath CofE in 2023 and also in 2024. The event went really well with the rain holding off and he had 6 schools taking part in total. After the success of the Y5/6 Hillcrest Football Cup we decided to organise a Y3/4 Hillcrest Football cup at our schools. JMAT KS2 Netball Festival at Wath Academy-21/10/25
It was great to host our first ever JMAT KS2 Netball festival at Wath Academy Netball Courts. With the fantastic support from Miss Greenfield, Mrs Cunningham and the Netball Scholars we organised numerous activities for the children to try with Netball. On Friday 10th October over 600 children took part in the Rotherham Cross Country finals at Herringthorpe Stadium. Five of our JMAT schools took children along to this fantastic event organised by Rotherham Harriers AC and the Rotherham School Games Organisers.
