JMAT Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition for the “Matt Burrows Shield”-12/11/25

On Tuesday 12th November we hosted our popular JMAT Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition for the “Matt Burrows Shield”. Matt was a parent of children at Wath CofE and had a massive impact on Rugby in the local area and supporting Rugby with our JMAT events. This trophy was won previously by Wath CofE in 2023 and also in 2024.
The event went really well with the rain holding off and he had 6 schools taking part in total. We had Rachel in attendance from Wath Rugby Club Wildcats programme who runs the Girls Rugby Programme. All of the children enjoyed the event with children signposted locally to Wath Rugby Club. Thank you to Wath Rugby Scholars who supported Mr Bennett with running the programme.
A massive congratulations to Ferham who won all of their games to have their name on the Matt Burrows shield for this year. Congrats to Mr Miker and everyone at school.
