Inclusion at JMAT
Every child known. Every teacher empowered. Every school inclusive. Every learner thriving.
Our vision for Inclusion across all JMAT school is ambitious, inclusive and forward-thinking. We are embracing the opportunities presented by the SEND reforms, including the Experts at Hand model, to transform how we identify, understand and support children and young people with additional needs as early as possible.
As a team we envisage every child being known, valued and enabled to thrive. We want children to experience high-quality, inclusive teaching, timely support and a graduated response that builds on their strengths, removes barriers to learning and promotes belonging. Support will be delivered as close to the child as possible through empowering our school staff, strong multi-agency collaboration through ‘experts at hand’ and evidence-informed practice. This aligns with our Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
By developing expertise and confidence in schools, supporting and strengthening partnerships with families and ensuring specialist knowledge is available when it is needed, we will create schools where inclusion thrives and every child has the opportunity to achieve, participate and flourish.
The JMAT Graduated Response aims to ensure that every child receives the right support, at the right time, from the right people, with increasing levels of provision matched to increasing levels of need.
