South Yorkshire Walk to School Week 2025

South Yorkshires Mayor Oliver Coppard has launched the second walk, wheel and cysle challenge for all of our schools. This second challenge took place on Monday 19th until Friday 23rd May 2025. This challenge encourages children in our schools to walk, wheel or cycle to school during this week with all schools receiving activity packs to support with this.

Two of our JMAT schools Kiveton Park Meadows Junior & Bramley Sunnyside Junior School have joined this or the previous initiative to encourage activity travel and increased Physical Activity for their children. They both came up with the idea of a Walking Bus with children meeting members of staff at set meeting points in the local area to walk to school. Well done to both schools and children for promoting and taking part in this fantastic initiative.
