JMAT Inter School Competitions Success-1082 Children and 14 events

This year has been a successful year for our JMAT Schools. In total we have organised 14 inter school events between our schools and had 1082 children at these events which is amazing. In total 13 of our schools have attended our JMAT only events.


Alongside our JMAT school events our schools have continued to access External Inter School events such as School Games, Local Cluster Events and other External events such as Rotherham United Community Trust.


Local Sporting Success for our Schools for 2024-2025

-JMAT KS2 Cross Country feeding into Rotherham Finals. Over 600 Runners taking part for the Ray Matthews Shield

-JMAT KS2 Girls Shooting Stars Football Festival we had over 150 Girls taking part from 9 of our Schools

-JMAT Football. Popular Y5/6 Boys and Girls Football League with 6 Schools taking part in both leagues and 240 children in both leagues. JMAT Y3/4 League had 7 schools involved

-JMAT Matt Burrows Shield Y5/6 Tag Rugby-Ran this event again with 6 Primaries taking part and Wath CofE winning the event for the second successive year

-JMAT Clare Miller Shield Y5/6 Cricket taking place as an Intra Event at Wath Victoria this year rather than an Inter event which Wath CofE was overall winners

-Capital of Culture Rotherham Schools Baton Relay-9 of our schools involved in this project. Promotion of Physical Activity across the Brough. Enjoyed by all!

-Don & Dearne Schools Totty Cup-Final between two of our JMAT Schools with Wath Victoria & Mexborough St John. Congratulations to MSJ who was victorious with a 3-0 win

-Don & Dearne Schools Girls Karen Walker Shield-Brampton Ellis was winners of the Karen Walker Shield.


-Rotherham United Community Trust

-Bramley Sunnyside are Y5/6 Mixed Football Champions (undefeated in the tournament), Bramley Sunnyside Futsal Champions

-Kiveton Park Meadows Y3/4 Runners up, Meadowview Y3/4 Boys Runners up in Play on the pitch tournament


-School Games Competitions:

-Bramley Sunnyside progressed from Rotherham to the South Yorkshire Finals in the Y5/6 Boys Hockey

-Bramley Sunnyside was fourth in Rotherham for the Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics and just missed out on qualification for Rotherham

-Bramley Sunnyside winners in the SEND KS2 Pentathlon

-Kiveton Park Meadows Y5/6 Girls Football Runners Up


 Local Cluster Sporting Events: Meadowview are Winterhill KS2 football winners, Y3/4 Boys runners up in Football “Steve Rhodes shield, Anston Hillcrest have had success in Wales cluster Events including Basketball, Tag Rugby, 10 Base Rounders, Gym/Dance festival, St Anns have had over 60 children represent the school in events this year
