Congratulations to six of our JMAT Primaries who have received awards from the Youth Sports Trust for their equal access for Girls Football in their school. In the summer Mr Bennett and Elliott Flowers (Wath Academy Girls Scholarship Manager) sent out some surveys on behalf of the Youth Sports Trust looking at the Girls Football provision in our schools. This will include PE lessons, lunchtime, afterschool clubs and any Extra Curricular events that your schools are involved in with Girls Football.
The FA’s vision is to ensure that every girl has this opportunity, with the goal of 75% of schools nationally offering girls equal access to football in PE lessons, and 90% of schools nationally offering girls equal opportunities to participate regular extra-curricular football.
Mr Bennett will be handing the Awards out in schools so please let him know if you would like him to say a few words in assembly or special mentions. Congratulations to the schools who have received these awards and please promote this via social media.
Please look out for more opportunities for Girls Football in particular with our JMAT Shooting Stars Event, JMAT Girls Football League and School Games Events/Local Cluster Events.
